Our Goal
Perú is rich in backgrounds, History, Culture, Tradition and we have many amazing heritages from our ancestors who spoke QUECHUA, a language which was born in Cusco in the Capital of the Empire but unfortunately nowadays, it is dying because no many kids wants to talk in order to get discriminations from their friends at the schools. Along the years the percents of Quechua speakers is lower, with the census of 2007 just 13% of the population accept to have Quechua as their first language, most of the speakers are from the mountains, from communities far away from the big Cities as: Cusco, Lima, Arequipa, this language is speaking in Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina, but It is in Peru where the most speakers are.
Quechua started dying since the rebellion against Spaniards which was in 1781 by Tupac Amaru, from that time the Spanish King ordered to disappear, and the social class by the time could not make too much to recover or maintain.
Nowadays no one has self esteem to talk it, and the new generations is shame to learn, they prefer to speak Spanish which is considered as better Social Prestige, language of Educated people, and this idea is bringing to the marginalization and exclusion who does not speak very well.
Since May 27th 1975 Quechua was declared as an autochthonous language by Peruvian Government but they don´t do anything to control and recover the Identity people.
HOW TO RECOVER IT:
We think to recover our History, Culture, and Traditions the most
important is to be proud of our ancestors and their language with these
knowledge we will understand that Quechua is not a language to be Shame.
It is a language of a great civilization and we have to talk and teach
to the next generations. Years before we were organizing some activities
for the poor kids every Christmas, but we just found that give them
chocolate and toys is not enough, we really want to development their
mind and teach the significant of the language first, and they will
learn and improve the History, Culture and Traditions we have in the
Andes.
Peru Andean Experience more than two years ago has a land of 500 m2 to
built a school to have kids and teach them the importance of our Quechua
in the Society also prepare them in the Globalization with other foreign
language, because we are sure if they know the importance of the
languages they will be very interested to learn.
But we need your ideas, hands and help to make it, PLEASE if you have
any ideas or help to build the School, they will be very welcome for the
project, or if you want to be part of our team don´t doubt to make it
and contact us.
THANKS TO EVERYONE TO HELP US AND MAKE IT POSSIBLE !!!.
