One of the most important and sacred trails in South
America is the Inka Trail to Machupicchu. You will be hiking in the
Andes through different ecological levels from Highlands to Jungle, and
visiting many archeological sites made by Incas dating back to 1400 A.D.
On the way we will observe the biodiversity of flora and fauna; we have
many species of flowers, orchids, birds, butterflies. You will feel a
sense of paradise in this beautiful National History Sanctuary.
Machupicchu was declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity site by UNESCO
in 1983. You will walk on a very important and Sacred Trail to one of
the New Seven Wonders of the World. If you would like to enjoy this

Discounts: US$30 discount on the above prices for students with a
valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and to children under
the age of 16 years old (scans of your ISIC card or child's passport
must be provided at the time of paying the trek deposit in order to
qualify for the discount).
INCLUDES: For 4 days you will be accompanied by our of or knowledgeable English speaking tour guides and we will provide you with all essential camping equipment: tents, roll mats, & pillows; as well as all meals for 3 days. The fourth day you will receive breakfast only. We will be accompanied by porters to carry our food and equipment and if you'd like to hire a porter for an additional fee to carry your bag you may do so. The cost includes all entrance fees including your ticket to Machupicchu, one bus ticket to Aguas Calientes and ticket on the Back Packers tourist train back to Cusco. Upon arriving in Machupicchu you will have a guided tour through the ruins and then will have time to explore on your own before heading to Aguas Calientes to catch your train.

Porter to carry up to 9 Kg = $ 50; up to 18 Kg = $ 90
Regarding porters who carry personal items. You will need to carry with
you a daypack with your Camera, water bottle, snacks, a fleece or
something warm and a poncho in case of rain (even in the dry season as a
precaution) and anything you will need before lunch as porters do not
walk alongside you. You will meet up with your bag at lunch and then
they will be waiting for you in your tents at the campsites.

Itinerary:
1º DAY Cusco Piscacucho Km. 82 Wayllabamba
Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hostel and take a
bus to the beginning of the Inca Trail (know as km 82) The ride is aprox.
3 hours but before arrive to the Km. 82 we are going to stop in
Ollantaytambo which is a small town along the Sacred Valley of the Incas
to have breakfast and also you can buy different thing for your trekking
such as coca leaves, sunscreen, plastic rain ponchos, etc. When we get
to Km. 82 we will check-in at the first Control point with your ticket
and Original Passport (make sure you have the same passport number when
you made your reservation). After the Control point we will walk 6 hours
to our first Campsite Wayllabamba (3000 m.a.s.l.). On the way we will
have an opportunity to see the third sacred highest snow cap mountain of
Cusco Wacaywillca (Veronica) 5800 m.a.s.l.
Lunch & Dinner are provided.
2º Day Wayllabamaba – Pacaymayu
Wake up call will be early in the morning to continue on the Sacred
Trail. Day two we will climb Dead Woman`s Pass, the highest mountain of
the whole trek, which is at 4215 m.a.s.l. and then continue down to our
second campsite at Pacaymayu 3600 m.a.s.l. The hike is approx. five
hours to the next campsite. On the way we will see the amazing landscape
of the Andes. At the campsite we will have lunch and then the afternoon
will be free.

3º Day Pacaymayu – Wiñaywayna
Wake up call will be early in the morning to continue on the Sacred
Trail, in this case we are going to climb two mountains the first one at
3950 m.a.s.l. and the second one at 3650 m.a.s.l. To get to the first
pass will be aprox. 1 ½ hours. Half way up we will visit one
archeological site called Runkurakay. From there we will hike 1 ½ hours
down hill to have lunch (3500 m.a.s.l.) but before we arrive at our
lunch spot we will visit another archeological site called Sayacmarca.
After lunch we will walk 1 1/2 hours to Phuyupatamarca Pass. The trail
to the top is unforgettable because the scenery is just mesmerizing;
from the top we can see Machupicchu mountain, the Vilcabamba range and
the Urubamba river. It will be two more hours all the way down hill to
Wiñaywayna. Camping site (2700 m.a.s.l.).
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are provided.
4º Day Wiñaywayna – Machupicchu
Wake up call is at 04:00 a.m. to go to visit one of the New Seven
Wonders of the World MACHUPICCHU. We will meet to have breakfast, then
head to the Check Point to show our tickets . The walk to Machupicchu
will be two hours but first we will stop at the Sun Gate because the
view of Machupicchu is amazing. Once we arrive at Machupicchu we will
take a tour then you will have free time to explore Machupicchu by
yourself (To Climb Waynapicchu mountain, nowadays the limit is 400
persons per day when we arrived there, most of the time the mountain is
full already) and around 2:00pm in the afternoon we will meet up in
Aguas Calientes to have lunch ( optional) and give you your train
tickets to Cusco (Some times the train will go directly to Cusco ( 4
hours). Or 2 hours to Ollantaytambo town where we will wait for you to
go to Cusco by bus 2 more hours) we will drop you close to the Main
Square in Cusco.
YOU NEED TO TAKE:
• ORIGINAL PASSPORT AND ISIC CARD. (It will be impossible to get in
the National Park without)
• BACKPACK AND DAYPACK.
• SLEEPING BAG. (we recommend -5ºC at least).
• HIKING BOOTS. (Sneakers or Runners shoes are not recommended).
• WALKING POLES. (They are very important to go up and down in the Andes
because they will take 30% of your weight).
• WARM CLOTHES, LAYERS. (for variable temperatures especially at night)
• FLASH LIGHT and/or headlamp. (at night it is very dark)
• CAMERA AND EXTRA FILM & Batteries.
• SUN PROTECTION : SUNSCREEN : SUN HAT : SUNGLASSES. (at high altitude
the sun hit is very strong and easy to get sunburned).
• THERMALS : WOOL SOCKS : AND WOOLEN HAT FOR COLD NIGHTS.
• INSECT REPELLENT. (there are a lot of mosquitos but you do not need to
worry about malaria.)
• RAIN PONCHO. (Even if you have a rain coat we prefer to bring plastic
poncho).
• TOILET PAPER / SMALL TOWEL. (Baby wipes and hands sanitizer).
• BATHING CLOTHES. (for the hot shower at the hostel or hot springs).
• GLOVES / SCARF. (Trekking thermal Pants or similar).
• WATER BOTTLES. (You can bring electrolytes drinks).
• PERSONAL MEDICAL KIT. ( We will have oxygen tanks).
• EXTRA MONEY FOR SOUVENIR, DRINKS & TIPS.
EXTRA MONEY
You need to take at least 300 or 400 soles emergency money that you hope
to come back to Cusco with!!! There are ATM´s in Aguas Calientes and
higher commission on Travelers Checks.
OTHER. TIPPING OF THE GUIDES AND PORTERS
Tips for the guide and porters are not included in the price of the
trek and it is apart of the experience. Generally groups prepare a
collective tip on the 3rd night which is shared out between the porters
and cook (Tip is up to you, and dependent on the service you receive,
most of the time each one of them get between 40 or 60 Peruvian soles) .
Tipping for your Guide and porters who carry your personal things is
separate after Machupicchu tour, when you meet up in Aguas Calientes to
have lunch (it is not included).
ABOUT THE PRICE:
The 2012 price change, basically for the train tickets cost which is
outside of our control, the Train Company Peru Rail is increasing their
prices for this year.
Inka trail entrance fee is 299 Peruvian Soles (including Peruvian taxes)
and we have to pay the porters entrance which is 50 soles (including
taxes); bus ticket from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes which costs
US$18 per person. It is not anticipated that these costs will increase
during 2012. The price paid for the bus ticket is clearly marked on the
ticket.
Local sales taxes known as IGV are included in the price of our treks
and tours. The current rate of IGV is 19. It is not anticipated that
this rate will increase during 2012; also we are one of the few
companies paying very good wages to our crew; Guides, porters, and
office staff.
HOW TO BOOK:
To make a reservation with us and Peruvian government authorities we
can’t change any details of the reservation. That´s why we need your
full names, passport numbers, age, Nationality, date of departure, also
a deposit of 180 USD per person, and the balance can be paid once you
arrive in Cusco before the Inka Trail.
We have two options for the deposit:
1.- VISA ONLINE; when you make the deposit online you will pay the
percentage of deposit (8%) because in Cusco we have to pay taxes also

when availability is changing very quickly and reservations need to be
